There isn’t quite a culture of ‘tourism’ in many of the villages in BiH but there is a long tradition of providing any visitor an incredibly warm welcome. A taste of old-world Europe: old farming methods, handmade tools and machinery, organic food, and a patriarchal lifestyle that has long since died out in the rest of Europe, all await the visitor.
The invaders that have swept through for centuries sent the Illyrian tribes high into the mountains over two millenia ago. The Slavic tribes, mainly agricultural and valley dwellers, blended with the Illyrian highland lifestyle creating a unique blend of semi-nomadic shepherds and highland agriculturists. This type of life has been preserved in many areas and only Green Visions can take you through the window of Bosnia's ancient past.

Our community projects are a mix of helping local communities appreciate their natural and cultural heritage and providing ways on how they can preserve their traditions and protect the land while interacting in meaningful ways with other communities and visitors. Our aim is to assist highland communities generate economic and conservation benefits from their interaction with guests, and for guests to experience highland and village life in a way that is meaningful to them.
