Have you ever hiked with a professional flute player who for years played with the Sarajevo Philharmonic Orchestra? Have you ever enjoyed a live interpretation of classical music followed by the sound of wind, songs of birds or the flow of a waterfall? Well, this could be your unique chance to experience it.
This summer Green Visions offers for the first time a special musical tour to Skakavac Waterfall and to the top of Trebevic Mountain. Here our guide and musician Faruk Karabegovic will treat you to some well hidden magical places around Sarajevo, accompanied by several classical masterpieces from Bach or Beethoven.
We start both trips from Sarajevo and use public transport to the beginning of the trails.
On week days we visit Skakavac Waterfall (The name Skakavac means grasshopper in Bosnian), the largest continually flowing waterfall in Bosnia and Herzegovina at a height of 98 meters. A soothing break and some tea or coffee awaits us here before we head down through thick beech forests to the base of Skakavac awaterfall. From below, we have a fantastic view of water, mist and forest.
During the weekend we use the bus from Latin Bridge to Brus, one of Sarajevo’s favorite picnic grounds. From this point, we start our 2 hours hike to top of Trebevic mountain. Arguably the peak with one of the best views of Sarajevo from above. The trail takes us along a long and winding mountain trail. We will be travelling most of the way through pine and spruce covered forests, very gently and constantly uphill, you will be treated occasionally to beautiful views of Romanija and Bukovik Mountains. With musical background of our virtuous, the experience will be unforgettable.
