Today’s bike ride takes us to Trebevic ‘Olympic’ mountain. We set off early morning from our office, located at Olympic Village of Mojmilo, using not that busy road which goes in direction of Jahorina, other Olympic village in Sarajevo vicinity.
After a short ride through the city suburbs we head to Trebevic mountain. We’ll be using a busy road for about 20 minutes, before we start our climb up Trebevic. The climb is moderate to strenuous, but once up we’re treated to beautiful views of Bjelasnica and Treskavica mountains. Two hours into the trip we turn to old Trebevic road and descend toward Brus, very well picnic ground of people from Sarajevo. An ideal place for our lunch break in the shade of the many beech trees and the cooling breeze from the Trebevic summit.
After lunch we follow the main road back, visiting the remaining of 1984 Olympic Bob sleigh, before heading back to Sarajevo with some great views of the city as we go bike down.
This is a well-paced ride through a mixture of towns and countryside. The Bjelasnica – Trnovo Mountain Biking Tour is a must-do if you have a niche for mountain biking and are interesting in exploring the beautiful nature that surrounds Sarajevo.
